the number of alarm-and surveillance in private and public spaces have
increased across europe. but if an alarm goes of nobody seems to pay
attention. it seems that society has become immune to the sound of alarms.

whether alarm systems fulfill a genuine utilitarian function in terms of
security or if they only exist to justify their own existence is
